2. Who We Are

3. Our Services

Commons Hub Brussels provides:

4. Membership & Booking

4.1 Becoming a Member

Membership is open to anyone who aligns with our community values. To become a member:

  1. Join a Friday Potluck or attend a community event
  2. Introduce yourself in the #introductions Discord channel
  3. Speak with a steward about membership options

Members are subject to our community governance. Changes to membership terms require approval by the community (minimum 2 members, including at least 1 steward).

4.2 Room Booking

Rooms can be booked in two ways:

Booking rules:
- Members get 30% off euro-denominated bookings (not applicable to CHT)
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance
- Late cancellations may forfeit the booking fee
- Rooms must be left clean after use

Full pricing and availability are on our website.

4.3 Rental Agreement

For longer-term or formalized rentals, a separate rental agreement is required. This agreement is signed between the member and Commons Hub Brussels and governs terms specific to your use case. Contact us for details.

5. House Rules (Règlement d'Ordre Intérieur)

All members and visitors must follow our House Rules (Règlement d'Ordre Intérieur), which include:

The full house rules are available on request and are distributed to all new members.

6. Token Economy (CHT)

6.1 Commons Hub Token (CHT)

CHT is an ERC20 token on the Celo blockchain (contract: 0x65DD32834927de9E57E72a3E2130a19f81C6371D).

Members can earn CHT by:
- Contributing to the space (stewarding, events, maintenance)
- Attending community activities

CHT can be used to book rooms at discounted rates.

6.2 Token Transfers

Token transfers require only the wallet owner's permission. The Commons Hub never moves tokens on behalf of a member without explicit authorization.

6.3 Blockchain Transparency

All CHT and EURe transactions on Gnosis Chain are publicly visible on the blockchain. This aligns with our value of financial transparency.

7. Financial Transparency

Commons Hub Brussels publishes:

We use open data principles: community data is published openly while protecting individual identity (pseudonyms encouraged, picture takedown requests honored).

8. Community Governance

We operate according to Elinor Ostrom's 8 Principles for Managing the Commons:

  1. Clear boundaries of membership
  2. Rules regarding use of commons-suited to local conditions
  3. Collective choice arrangements
  4. Monitoring
  5. Graduated sanctions
  6. Conflict-resolution mechanisms
  7. Recognition of right to self-governance
  8. Nested enterprises for larger commons

Decision-making: Changes to space operations require approval by at least 2 community members, including at least 1 steward.

Exceptions: Xavier Damman (co-founder) may override any governance rule when necessary for the organization's operation.
